Job Title: Networks and Systems Administrator
Department: Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Unit
Line Manager: ICT Unit Manager
Scope of Work: Networking, Systems Administration and Technical support
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The Palestinian Museum Networks and Systems Administrator will be responsible for and deliver below tasks:
- Implementation and configuration for open source Systems such Zabbix, Squid Proxy, DHCP or any other systems
- Managing Office 365, Windows 7 & 10, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server
- Manage and administrate Linux and Windows Server and Client Systems
- Implementing high availability and redundancy on key services
- Knowledge in servers and network security
- Installing and configuring computer systems
- Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems (servers, switches, storage, backup system, personal computer or any computed device)
- Talking staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Managing network operations including troubleshooting connectivity problems, installing & maintaining routers, adding/terminating users, assigning rights and access, resetting passwords, establishing e-mail addresses, assessing and reporting operational status, performing backups and restoration, etc.
- Conducting technology orientation and exit briefing for all staff; preparing technology and systems for new and existing staff
- Performing routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software
- Testing and evaluating new technology
- Installing and managing Antivirus systems
- Managing and configuring different security systems
- Installing and configuring CCTV systems
Scope of Responsibilities and Supervision
Networks & Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the network and computing system at the Museum.
- Manages: None
- Internal Relationships: collaborate with the ICT team and with other departments for support
- External Relationships: ICT Services providers
Job Requirements
Academic qualifications and practical experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field.
- at least 3 to 4 years of experience in networking, systems administration and it support.
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with VMWare, Office 365, Veeam Backup and Replications
- Solid experience in Linux systems administration
- In depth knowledge of CISCO Networking technologies
- Experience in storage systems management and configuration
- Solid experience in VMware management and configuration
- Experience in firewalls management and configuration
- Solid Experience in backup systems and techniques
- Experience in AWS
