Background

The Palestinian Museum is an independent institution dedicated to supporting an open and dynamic Palestinian culture nationally and internationally. The Museum presents and engages with new perspectives on Palestinian history, society and culture. It also offers spaces for creative ventures, educational programmes and innovative research. The Museum is a flagship project of Taawon-Welfare Association and one of the most exciting new cultural projects in Palestine.
The Palestinian Museum is looking for a self-motivated and innovative fundraising consultant to join the busy fundraising team for 12 months. The consultant will report directly to the Museum’s Director and work in coordination with the in-house Resource Mobilization Department to complement and amplify their fundraising mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct extensive written mapping and identification of new potential institutional, corporate, and individual donors and benefactors across the Gulf, Europe and the Americas.
Establish solid relationships with new potential institutional, corporate and individual donors.
Develop an action plan on how to approach these donors and engage them in the Museum’s different funding schemes: Friends of the Palestinian Museum, Corporate Membership, Patrons’ Circle, sponsorship of events, etc.
Develop and submit at least 7 project-based funding proposals to a mix of new individual and institutional donors, in compliance with the Museum’s programs.
Attract significant donations over 12 months from both individual and institutional donors outside current Museum and Taawon networks, including from at least 6 institutions and 20 individuals.
Implement specific tasks in managing major campaigns and events in coordination with the Museum’s Resource Mobilization Department, as relevant. 
 
Requirements

- Proven track-record of achieving multimillion fundraising targets for non-profits. 
- Ability to write and speak clearly, concisely and persuasively in English. Skills in Arabic language is a strong asset.
- Enthusiastic about the Palestinian Museum, Palestinian culture, arts, history and society. 
- Demonstrates analytical rigor, intellectual creativity and contributes original ideas.  
- A positive and highly motivated attitude.  
- Internationally based with availability to travel frequently and extensively on fundraising missions and meetings.

Reporting

- Submits periodic written progress reports to the Museum Director as agreed.
- Reports in-person to the Museum’s Director, Resource Mobilization Committee and relevant bodies upon request.
