The Palestinian Museum’s Digital Archive Project offers several paid internships in the fields of translation, transliteration, and language services.

The internship opportunities are tailor-made to young trainees wish to upskill their competence and performance and build up hands-on knowledge in the targeted areas.

The Digital Archive Project internships crowd under the following areas:
- Archival content transliteration;
- Archival content translation;
- Spot-checking.

The internship offered is at least 25 hours per week at the Palestinian Museum premises during the working hours.

Eligibility criteria:

To be cherry-picked to take up one of our internships, you should:
- pass our Language Service Internship Assessment;
- be a junior translator or fresh graduate of English Language, English Literature, Translation, Applied Linguistics, or another related field;
- have a fluent command of English and Arabic;
- be fast-learner and able to pick-up terms and language variations quickly;
- be interested in the Palestinian history and culture; and
- be able to commit to complete 130 hours per month.

Role and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Digital Archive Project Copyeditor, our new joinees are expected to:

- translate archival content from Arabic into English and vice versa as per the Digital Archive Style and Glossary of Terms and Facts;
- collect terms and build glossaries;
- transliterate Arabic names into English as per the IJMES Transliteration System;
- spot-check specific translated chunks; and
- other related tasks.
