Talk: “Khalil Raad to Today, Palestinian Portraiture”

Adam Rouhana in conversation with Nadi Abusaada
Wednesday, 17 December, 17:00–18:30
Location: the Palestinian Museum
Language: English, with Arabic translation available

In his installation “Permission to Narrate”, Palestinian photographer Adam Rouhana draws on the large-format techniques central to Khalil Raad’s practice and turns them towards contemporary portraiture in Palestine. His work does more than echo Raad’s visual language; it reimagines it in a moment marked by deep fragmentation, intensified by the war on Gaza and the ongoing attempts to sever the lifelines of Palestinian material culture.

We invite you to join this conversation to explore the visual dialogue between two eras and the questions it opens about memory, representation, and the role of photography in Palestine today.
