Artist Faten Mitwasi presents the outputs of the workshop ‘Revival of Traditional Handicrafts on the Palestinian Coast’ tracing her progress and the participants' experience by producing innovative handmade models inspired by traditional crafts that were, and still are, practiced on the Palestinian coast.
The workshop was held in 2022 and was based on the exhibition A People by the Sea: Narratives from the Palestinian Coast. It included a series of meetings during which participants were encouraged to develop designs for crafts varying between fishnet weaving, dyeing, painting, pottery and porcelain making, glass staining, and papermaking.
