This colouring and discovery book is based on Feast of Ashes: the Life and Art of David Ohannessian by Sato Moughalian. In her book, Moughalian explores her grandfather David Ohannessian’s (1884-1953) life journey. The book tells the story of the establishment of the art of Jerusalem Armenian ceramics in the city as the author traces her grandfather’s works in churches, houses, and on the walls of the Old City among other locations.In this book, readers will find many ceramic artworks made by the Armenian ceramicist, David (Tavit) Ohannessian during his years in Jerusalem. Some of those beautiful ceramics were inspired by Tavit’s childhood in Mouradchai, Turkey more than a hundred years ago. Through this book, young readers will discover some of Tavit’s wonderful ceramics and the stories they tell while also getting a chance to tell their own stories.
