Main tasks and responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Unit Manager, the security guard shall carry out the work of guarding the building and its facilities, maintaining its security and the safety of its visitors and employees, dealing with security incidents and violations, and carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Participate in all security and safety operations at the site, address them when they occur and prevent their escalation.
  • Initiate a preliminary investigation into problems and incidents that occur at the site, whether referred to by officials or discovered by the Security and Safety Department.
  • Arranging the process of entering and parking cars according to who is organising the event in question.
  • Work to spread awareness of safety and security matters.
  • Commitment to on-site shifts on working days, holidays, vacations, and night shifts.
  • Commitment to training and coordination with the competent authorities in order to develop the efficiency of security guard workers.
  • Guarding buildings and protecting them from acts of vandalism or theft.
  • Guarding the site's VIP visitors and delegations.
  • Report incidents and security violations and take the necessary measures in coordination with the Facilities Unit Manager.
  • Hold suspects accountable and if necessary, refer them to the competent authority following coordination with the Facilities Unit Manager.
  • Carrying out various tasks during the shift periods per the direct supervisor, such as assisting in various events and their necessary preparations, and any maintenance work under the supervision of the direct supervisor.
     

Scope of Prerogatives and Supervision
 
The security officer is fully responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the museum building and its facilities.

External relationships: None

 

Job Requirements
Academic qualifications and work experience:

  • Ability to understand and speak English.
  • Good conduct, behavior and clean security record.
  • Commitment to working hours and shifts, especially at night.
  • Preferably a holder of the General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihi) or an intermediate diploma qualification.
  • Preference is given to those with certificates for courses related to public safety.
  • At least three years of related experience.
