We invite women and women-led groups working in embroidery in Palestine to take part in Living Embroidery, a participatory project that opens a visual dialogue between Palestine and Mexico through thread, colour, and memory. During this full-day programme, participants will learn about Mexican embroidery and create works inspired by Palestinian motifs. The works will be shown at the Palestinian Museum alongside pieces created by women in Mexico, before travelling to Mexico as part of a group exhibition.

The project explores the visual affinities between Palestinian and Mexican embroidery—their forms, colours, motifs, and the relationships women weave through craft across distance and difference. It frames embroidery as more than ornament: a living cultural practice that carries history, identity, daily life, and women’s visceral relationship to land and community.
