I am a Painter who did not Fall into the Net

I am a Painter who did not Fall into the Net

Poem by Wasim Kurdi

Illustrated by Abdullah Qawariq

Language: Arabic

Between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River are coasts, cities, mountains, and valleys; all are spaces of this poem, and of our friend the painter, who plays with his imagination not only with colours but with stars and jellyfish. The painter flips everything upside down, swimming with stars at the bottom of the sea and swimming with jellyfish in the vastness of space.

The poem is inspired by the exhibition A People by the Sea: Narratives from the Palestinian Coast.
