The first edition of this book was published in 2022 by the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the Palestinian Museum in Birzeit, Occupied Palestine. Landwalks: Across Palestine and South Africa was completed thanks to the Sharjah Art Foundation 2021 FOCAL POINT Publishing grant awarded to Professor Tomà Berlanda and architect Meghan Ho-Tong. The grant, which was announced through an open call, supports experimental and interdisciplinary publishing projects characterised by their intellectual content and high-quality design and directorial specifications. The book showcases research work developed through a partnership between editors and academics at the University of Cape Town School of Architecture, Planning & Geomatics and the museum. The project was funded by the University of Cape Town with collaborative support from institutions in Occupied Palestine.
