The Palestinian Museum welcomed a new Board for the 2026–2029 term, ushering in a new chapter for the institution. Building on recent achievements, the Museum looks to carry its cultural mission forward and bring greater breadth of expertise to bear across its programmes and activities.
Chaired by Luay Khoury, the Board comprises Muwaffak A. Bibi, Reem Masrouji, Mahmoud Shawa, Suha Srour Fakhouri, Rasha Abu Ghazaleh, Lana Ghanem, Samar Alshorafa, Ashraf Abuissa, Lina Muhtadi, and Nasser Barghouti. Drawing on experience spanning leadership, management, business, and organisational development, the Board will help the Museum thrive over the long term as a leading Palestinian cultural organisation.
As it enters this new chapter, the Museum extends its sincere thanks to the outgoing Board and its Chair, Omar Al Qattan. His unwavering support, wisdom, and courageous leadership, together with the Board’s stewardship through a period of exceptional challenge, helped consolidate the Museum’s standing and strengthen its cultural presence.
Alongside this transition, work is under way to establish an Expert Advisory Council that will bring together leading intellectuals, scholars, and specialists in culture, museums, heritage, and the arts. The Council will help inform the Museum’s intellectual vision, programmes, and content; deepen engagement with Palestinian and Arab culturescape. In turn, the Museum will be better placed to respond to knowledge and culture shifts and strengthen its museum practice.
These steps reflect the Museum’s commitment to advancing its cultural mission and sustaining its role as a space for knowledge production and the preservation of Palestinian memory.
