Where Did the Family Album Go?

For Families and Children

Friday, 23 January, 14:00–17:00
Location: the Palestinian Museum
Language: Arabic

For a long time, family drawers held photo albums; sometimes we knew their stories, and at other times we imagined new ones for the people, events, and places they contain. Photographs open the door to many questions: What were the people in the image doing? Where are they today? Where were these photographs taken? Have we passed through those places before? And in what time?

Today, we ask together: have family photo albums disappeared? And where have they gone?

This workshop invites participants to look closely at old photographs alongside artist Monther Jawabreh. We approach the images, change a colour, add what is missing, or imagine a different time or season for the same scene. We reconsider the photograph as it is, then open it to new possibilities: how it might be seen today, or how it might have been meant to be.

Places are limited.
