We invite you to attend “Heritage in Action: Learning from Practices in Palestine”, taking place on 12 May at DOMO – Home for International Cultural Collaboration, Amsterdam, as part of Actiedag Weerbaar Erfgoed.

Organized in collaboration with the Centre for Cultural Heritage Preservation – Bethlehem and the Palestinian Museum, the programme brings together a conversation and a hands-on workshop on emergency response for cultural heritage. It draws on locally led initiatives across Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, highlighting practices of cultural “first aid” alongside practical insights into heritage digitisation in crisis contexts.

The programme includes a conversation with Akram M. Lilja and Nimalka Passanha, as well as a workshop led by Baha Jubeh from the Palestinian Museum.

During the workshop, the Museum team will present the importance of documentation, archiving, and emergency response practices, with a focus on its work across Palestine. It will also highlight the role of partnerships in knowledge exchange and awareness-building. The session will feature a live demonstration of the digitisation process using a local digitisation unit, working with different types of materials, including documents, textiles, and objects, alongside an interactive, parallel setup.

We welcome librarians, archivists, conservators, museum professionals, and cultural heritage practitioners across the Netherlands to join.
