Haven’t we all paused over the coloured tiles in our grandparents’ homes, wondering how they were made?

Join us for a family workshop exploring traditional Palestinian tile-making, and discover how simple materials, shaped by artisans’ hands, became patterned floors that coloured Palestinian homes and lived on in their memory.

Together, children and families will:

• Explore Palestinian tiles

Look closely at the patterns, colours, and motifs that distinguish Palestinian tiles, and discover their variety and beauty.

• Make your own tile

With Aslan Tiles, learn traditional tile-making techniques and make your own tile to take home with you.

• Draw inspiration from tile motifs

In artist-led activities, families will make a fabric rug, create stamped posters, and paint contemporary tiles that explore repetition and rhythm in ornament.

Join us for an afternoon of craft, creativity, and hands-on making.
