80 Thobes and stories make it Home from the Diaspora

Speakers: Museum Registrar Bahaa Al-Jubeh and Collector Maha Abu Shusheh

Thursday, July 29| 18:00
Location: The Palestinian Museum social media platforms

Join us to learn the story of 80 embroidered Palestinian dresses (thobes) that traveled from Palestine to the United States three decades ago. They were acquired and preserved by Palestinian and Arab-American women from the Committee for the Preservation of Palestinian Heritage (CPPH), in Washington, DC. The collection of Thobes and their accessories have finally made it home to Palestine, where they will be preserved at the Palestinian Museum.

Join us to hear the story of the 80 thobes, and the details of a 30-year journey.
